Exterior Painting

Exterior paint fails from the substrate out. We wash, scrape, repair rotted wood, and prime bare surfaces before coating, so the finish bonds to something solid.
Then we apply a primer-plus-two-coat system rated for UV and moisture, and we caulk every joint that should be sealed — and leave open the ones that need to breathe.
Carpentry repair
Rotted trim, fascia, soffit, and siding boards replaced with matching profiles, or repaired with epoxy where the member is structurally sound. Rot is a moisture problem, so we look for the cause, not just the symptom.
Caulking and sealing
Elastomeric caulk at trim-to-siding joints, window and door perimeters, and penetrations, using backer rod on wide gaps. Bottom edges of siding stay open so trapped moisture can escape.
Coating system
Bonding primer where needed plus two finish coats of exterior acrylic sprayed and back-brushed on siding, brushed on trim. Doors and shutters are finished separately for a smooth, hard surface.

What weather do you need?
Dry surfaces, temperatures above the coating's minimum, and no rain within the recoat window. We reschedule rather than push a coat into bad weather.
Do you paint stucco, brick, and fiber cement?
Yes, each with its own primer and coating system. Painting brick is permanent, so we walk you through the tradeoffs first.
How long will it last?
With proper prep and premium coatings, expect 8–12 years on siding, with south- and west-facing elevations aging fastest.
