A deck is structure first and finish second. We start below grade with correctly sized footings and code-compliant framing, then layer on the decking, railing, and lighting details that make the space feel like a room rather than a platform.
Whether you want a simple grilling deck off the kitchen or a multi-level entertaining space with a covered roof, you get one lead carpenter, a written scope, and a price that does not move once the plan is signed.
We measure the house, check grade and drainage, and lay out the deck so traffic flows from the door you actually use. Beam spans, joist spacing, and ledger attachment are all sized to code for your load and height, and we produce the drawings your county needs for permitting.
Pressure-treated framing, hot-dip galvanized or stainless hardware, flashed ledgers, and concrete footings poured below frost depth. Where the deck is elevated we add cross-bracing and, when you want usable space below, a drainage membrane between the joists.
Choose composite for low maintenance, cedar for warmth, or ipe for hardwood longevity. Boards are laid with consistent gapping and hidden fasteners where the product allows. Railings can be cable, powder-coated aluminum, or wood picket, with stair geometry built to even risers.
Low-voltage lighting in risers, posts, and under-rail channels extends the season and makes the deck safe after dark. We finish with skirting, fascia wraps, privacy screens, and pergolas when the plan calls for them.

Composite costs more up front and effectively removes staining from your maintenance list. Cedar costs less and looks warmer, but expects a wash and re-seal every couple of years.
